Another post-Super-Bowl spike for Bad Bunny – this time on YouTube

We’ve heard from Apple Music about the post-Super-Bowl spike for streams of Bad Bunny’s music. Spotify also said his catalogue got a 210% bump globally and 470% increase in the US.

Now it’s YouTube’s turn to reveal some Bunny boosts. The company says that he had 25 tracks on its 8 February US Daily Top Music Videos charts, including a clean sweep of the top three. The following day he hogged 26 slots on the chart.

While that eased off, Bad Bunny still had three of the top four daily US music videos in Wednesday’s chart (11 February). YouTube also says that daily views of his music reached 66m globally on Monday, the day after the Super Bowl.

The platform hasn’t yet published this week’s ‘Top Artists’ chart, but even before the big game, Bad Bunny was enjoying growth on YouTube. His music generated 242.7m global weekly views in the week of 30 January to 5 February, up from 220.1m the previous week.

Note, though, even pre-Super-Bowl hype wasn’t enough to beat the biggest artists from India on YouTube. Top-ranked Alka Yagnik’s music had 457.1m views in the latest week, followed by Udit Narayan (339.3m) and Arijit Singh (325.9m).
