Tottenham are in contact with Igor Tudor as they look to appoint an experienced interim head coach to replace Thomas Frank until the end of the season.

Tudor, the former Croatia and Juventus centre-back, is the leading candidate for the role as Spurs assess a range of options, The Independent understands.

The 47-year-old was sacked by Juventus in October after just seven months in charge. He previously led them to a fourth-place finish in Serie A, but was dismissed following an eight-game winless run.

Tottenham want to appoint an interim coach before naming Frank’s permanent successor in the summer. However, with the club 16th in the Premier League and just five points above the relegation zone, they are faced with a crucial decision.

Their next game is not until 22 February, but it comes against Premier League leaders and north London rivals Arsenal.
