Austin Reaves sends strong message on LeBron's historic night

After becoming the oldest player in NBA history to record a triple double, LeBron James earned major praise from Austin Reaves. The Lakers guard highlighted LeBron’s control, athleticism and IQ, making it clear why he still sees him as one of the best players in the league.

On February 12, LeBron James became the oldest player in NBA history to record a triple-double, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124-104 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

The Lakers star finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists, marking the 123rd triple-double of his career.

But after the final buzzer, much of the focus shifted to what Austin Reaves had to say about his teammate.

"I think LeBron just was being himself, controlling the game, you know, doing what he does... I mean, I think it's obviously super impressive," Reaves said in a post-game interview. "You know, he's fighting father time as good as anybody ever has. Just the pace that he's playing with, the athleticism, obviously the IQ. Yeah, he's still one of the best players in the NBA. He's an all-star for a reason. And, yeah, he's just a pretty good basketball player."

At 41, James continues to show elite athleticism and high basketball IQ. His ability to read coverages, attack mismatches, and deliver timely passes remains a key part of the Lakers' system.

The win itself carried weight. The Lakers moved to fifth place in the Western Conference, now just half a game behind the Houston Rockets and 1.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets.

LeBron missed the first 14 games of the season due to sciatica, but since returning, he has suited up in 36 games. He is averaging 22 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per night, shooting 50.2 percent from the field and 30.5 percent from three.
