“Needs To Make a Significant Move”: NFL Analyst Believes That the Detroit Lions Need To Trade…

The Detroit Lions finished with a 9-8 record last season and finished in last place in the NFC North. Detroit won the NFC North division in 2023 and in 2024. The Lions could very well once again be in the mix for the playoffs next season and they have a lot of talent on the roster. With that being said, they do need to make some adjustments.

One player who could potentially be on the trade market this offseason is Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. There are questions about if Crosby wants to be in Vegas next season or not. If not, then Detroit could be a potential team that can be in on the Crosby sweepstakes.

NFL Analyst Believes That the Detroit Lions Should Trade For Maxx Crosby This Offseason

Some nfl.com writers debated about whether or not Crosby should be traded this offseason. Marc Ross of nfl.com believes that Detroit should trade for Crosby this offseason. He said,

“The Lions have so much talent on the roster, and it does appear their Super Bowl window is still open. However, Detroit missed the playoffs in 2025, showing that this league does fall in line with the “Not For Long” motto. Lions general manager Brad Holmes needs to make a significant move to improve the defense, which just finished the season ranked 18th in total D and 22nd in points allowed. Crosby would perfectly complementAidan Hutchinson, forming a top pass-rush duo in Detroit. His play style fully aligns with Dan Campbell’s GRIT mentality, and the Eastern Michigan product’s homecoming would send Lions fans into a frenzy.”

He is 28 years old and still in the prime of his career. Being traded to Detroit could be a good chance for him to win a Super Bowl. Las Vegas is not ready to be a serious contender yet. Trading him for a first-round pick potentially could be good for both parties involved. In 15 games last season with the Raiders, he recorded 73 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception, and six pass deflections.

A pairing of Crosby and Aidan Hutchinson could be very good on the defensive line for the Lions. It would be a great addition for Detroit. They will be under pressure to get back to the playoffs next season, and he would fit Dan Campbell’s program perfectly.
