"This is it! After over 21 years, I'm stepping away from basketball," Paul wrote in a heartfelt post. "While this chapter of being an 'NBA player' is done, the game of basketball will forever be engrained in the DNA of my life."

Paul, 40, is a 12-time All-Star, 11-time All-NBA selection, and a member of the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team.

He also won two Olympic gold medals with the United States men's basketball team. Over his career, he became known for his leadership, court vision, and ability to elevate every team he played for.

Reflecting on his career, Paul said, "The game always gave me a reason to SHOW UP!!! And the true leaders and fighters know that right there – showing up – is half of the battle." He also thanked his family, teammates, coaches, and fans for their support throughout his career.

Known for his professionalism on and off the court, Paul played for multiple teams, including the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, and Phoenix Suns. He spent his final career moments with the Toronto Raptors, who recently waived him.
