Texas Tech NFL Draft prospect's worst landing spot is with Browns for Myles Garrett reason

Coming into the 2026 offseason, the Cleveland Browns have a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball, but the offense more than the defense.

With two first-rounders in the 2026 NFL Draft, however, the Browns could go offense and defense to build a well-balanced team. But one top player might not be the best option.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report believes that Texas Tech pass rusher David Bailey's worst landing spot in the NFL would be with the Browns, thanks in part to Myles Garrett.

David Bailey's worst landing spot is with Browns

"Bailey should look to land with an odd-front defense that uses him as a high-volume pass-rusher and the headliner of its pass rush," Knox writes. "The Browns would not be that team."

Not only would Bailey be playing behind Garrett along the defensive line, but he would likely be a part of a pass rusher rotation in a 4-3 defense as opposed to his ideal 3-4 defense.

Bailey is a good pass rusher and is likely to go inside the top-10 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Pairing him up with Garrett would make one of the more fearsome defensive lines in the NFL.

Investing so much into the pass rush room, while it could work out, might not be the best idea for the Browns or Bailey.

The Texas Tech pass rusher would ideally have a bigger role on the defense than he would in Cleveland. And the Browns need offensive help desperately, and would be better off double-dipping on offense in Round 1.

Bailey to the Browns is a fun draft pick, but only in theory. In practice, the fit doesn't make a lot of sense, and with some uncertainty about the offense, taking a wide receiver or offensive line instead would be the better choice.
