It seemed like Jill Zarin had finally gotten something she had wanted for a long time with her upcoming return to Real Housewives of New York spin-off The Golden Life. However, she ruined her opportunity by releasing a video after the Super Bowl halftime show, criticizing Bad Bunny's performance, and making a few statements that the show's producers didn't agree with. She was dropped from the upcoming season for her statements.
During a SiriusXMshow, Andy Cohen, the producer of Real Housewives, made a brief comment on her very abrupt firing from the upcoming show, trying to keep his opinions neutral. However, he couldn't resist expressing his shock at the fallout of her online outburst.
"I don’t really have anything to say about it, besides call E!” Cohen began. “If you want further comment, call E!. I mean, especially someone who was let go in Season 4, talked about it with me so much on camera, off camera, was finally coming back, and then a week after the announcement."
Sadly, because of her publicly expressed viewpoints on Bad Bunny's half-time show, she won't be returning to the show. Something she waited a long time for has been taken away due to her controversial take on the Spanish language performance. She claimed that it was the worst halftime show ever and that the NFL had 'sold out'. She also added that there were no 'white people' in the show, which was a problem for her.
As well as being dropped from the upcoming Real Housewives spin-off, Zarin was also distanced from Zarin Fabrics. They are a company set up by her former family. In response to her comments about the Super Bowl show, they posted a picture of her with a huge red cross on her face. They also released a statement ensuring that everyone knows that Zarin, despite sharing a name with the company, has nothing to do with their business.
Cohen couldn't help himself commenting on this bold and very blatant statement by the fabric company. "I will never get over the sight of the Zarin Fabrics Instagram account. Posting a picture of Jill with an X over it, with an X over her face. I never thought that I would see the day," he said.
There have been many statements made about the Bad Bunny performance at this year's Super Bowl, with a huge amount of praise for his extravagant show and political statements. However, there have also been plenty of negative reactions, with many people speaking out about the decision to have the show in Spanish.
But for someone like Zarin, uploading the scathing review of the show resulted in her losing her upcoming role and alienating many of her fans. Some would have agreed with her, but the production company behind The Golden Life did not.
