Jets would be worst landing spot for top WRs thanks to Justin Fields problem

The New York Jets are entering an offseason with Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey potentially on the hot seat. A lackluster year, and they both could be fired.

But, for now, the Jets are looking to build a solid roster for the 2026 season. To do so, aside from their defense and the quarterback position, adding a wide receiver is a big need.

However, as Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report points out, the Jets would be the worst landing spot for top wide receivers in the NFL Draft thanks to their Justin Fields problem.

Jets named worst landing spot for NFL Draft WRs

Knox made a point to call the Jets the worst landing spot for top wide receivers in the NFL Draft, focusing on Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson.

"Tyson should hope to land with a team that can use him in a No. 1 role, ideally with a solid all-around offense and strong quarterback play," Knox writes. "He should hope not to land with a team like the New York Jets."

While the Jets might not have their quarterback, thanks to Justin Fields being a failed $40 million experiment, they can add one this offseason.

A veteran like Kirk Cousins, or even Tua Tagovailoa, would give the team's wide receivers a chance to put up decent statistics during the 2026 season.

Tyson, the 6-foot-2 wide receiver out of Arizona State, has dealt with injuries and shaky quarterback play in his college career.

The Jets could use Tyson to pair with Garrett Wilson, but Tyson's best fit would not be with the Jets. As is the case with every rookie wide receiver, going to a team with an experienced quarterback and good offensive line play is huge.

But the Jets might take Tyson if he gets to their second first-round draft pick. He'd be a strong option at 16th overall. While Knox believes that Tyson should hope not to land with the Jets, with even mediocre QB play, Tyson could have a solid year for the Jets.
