Former Patriots assistant named Josh Allen’s new QB coach

A former [Patriots](https://www.masslive.com/patriots/) coach is coming back to the AFC East in an important role.

Bo Hardegree has officially been hired as Buffalo’s quarterbacks coach, so he’ll be working hands-on with Josh Allen. Hardegree, 41, was a Patriots offensive assistant in 2021 and then followed Josh McDaniels to Las Vegas when he took the head coaching job there.

A quarterbacks coach under McDaniels, Hardegree was promoted to offensive coordinator following the head coach’s midseason firing in 2023, but wasn’t retained.

He landed a gig as Tennessee’s quarterbacks coach in 2024, and took over play-calling last season from embattled head coach Brian Callahan, who was later fired.

Now in Buffalo, Hardegree will be working under newly-promoted Joe Brady and alongside Allen, who is just one year removed from winning the NFL’s MVP award.
