Lions' WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has no basketball history or height

Amon-Ra St. Brown will be playing basketball on Friday night.

He's taking part in the NBA's Celebrity Game as part of All-Star Weekend, trading in his Detroit Lions uniform and helmet for some high-tops.

The fascinating part of St. Brown's participation: There's essentially no evidence of a basketball career.

He also doesn't possess much basketball height, listed at 6-feet tall, which might be generous.

St. Brown's accomplishments at Mater Dei (Calif.) are well recorded, as he had a prolific football career there before going to USC.

But there's no evidence he was a hooper there, at least at the varsity level. MaxPreps doesn't show him on a roster.

Many football players were also great basketball players back in the day, but apparently, that's not the case for St. Brown.

He's obviously a great athlete, one of the most uncoverable receivers in the NFL.

And he can jump:

Sports fans will have to wait and see if St. Brown actually has game, though.

He'll surely put up some numbers as an active, high-end professional athlete on a court not full of such dudes.

The basketball fundamentals may leave a bit to be desired, but maybe St. Brown can surprise us.
