Christian Kirk will be a veteran wide receiver option for the Browns.

The Cleveland Browns need some significant help at wide receiver and veteran Christian Kirk has surfaced as a potential target.

Kirk’s production hasn’t been off the charts in recent seasons. Most recently, he caught 28 passes for 239 yards and a touchdown with the Houston Texans. But Kirk saved his best for the postseason, catching 10 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns in the team’s two playoff games.

Kirk’s best season came with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022. He snagged 84 receptions for 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns.

With Cleveland searching for reliable help at wide receiver, Kirk is emerging as a realistic and potentially cost-effective option as free agency approaches. The soon-to-be 30-year-old would bring a proven track record to a Browns offense that remains thin on established pass-catchers, and he may come at a relative bargain compared to the rest of the market.

Christian Kirk Could Be Reliable Option for Browns

Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport identified Cleveland as a top fit for Kirk, noting that his experience and past production could make him an attractive value play.

“Players such as Alec Pierce and Wan’Dale Robinson are going to drive the market at wideout this spring, but Kirk is an experienced receiver with a history of producing and should be available for significantly less money,” Davenport said.

While Kirk may not headline the 2026 free-agent wide receiver class, ESPN’s Bill Barnwell sees a clear path for the veteran wideout to land guaranteed money with the right team.

“As a 29-year-old receiver mostly limited to slot work, Kirk won’t have a huge market in free agency. But he’s a well-regarded teammate and has an 1,108-yard season on his résumé, so he should find some guaranteed money as a third wideout on a receiver-needy team in 2026,” Barnwell said.

Browns Running it Back With Jerry Jeudy

Cleveland entered the year expecting Jerry Jeudy to serve as its No. 1 wide receiver after he earned Pro Bowl honors the previous season. Instead, Jeudy struggled to match that production, finishing with 50 receptions for 602 yards and two touchdowns.

Despite his rough year, Jeudy is expected to be back and will look to rebound under new offensive-minded head coach Todd Monken.

“Despite the rough year, Jeudy will be back with the Browns in 2026 with the expectation that he’ll rebound amid some quarterback stability. The Browns haven’t identified their starter for 2026 yet, but they’re confident they’ll be better at QB than in 2025, when third-round pick Dillon Gabriel went 1-5 and fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders went 3-4,” Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot said. “Jeudy has two years left on his three-year extension worth $17.5 million a year, but the Browns have an out after 2026, given that the dead cap charge for 2027 would only be about $7.15 million. Of course, that will be a moot point if Jeudy has the comeback year the Browns are hoping for.”

The quarterback situation looms as the most critical question the Browns must answer this offseason. Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel and Deshaun Watson are all under contract for next year, but that trio alone is unlikely to settle the matter. Cleveland is expected to aggressively explore every avenue — from free agency and the draft to potential trades — as it searches for clarity and stability.
