New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh talked up Donald Trump when addressing the president’s bizarre endorsement.
Earlier this offseason, the Giants made a huge move by hiring Harbaugh as head coach after firing Brian Daboll in November. The Super Bowl winner is already attracting some big names to his coaching staff.

Across his time in Baltimore, Harbaugh led the Ravens to the playoffs in 12 of his 18 seasons. He posted a 13-11 postseason record, reaching the AFC Championship four times, and won six AFC North titles but parted ways with the franchise following a difficult 2025 campaign.

After Harbaugh was let go by the Ravens, Trump took to Truth Social to write: “The New York Football Giants should hire, without question, John Harbaugh — and John, a great guy, should TAKE THE JOB!!!”
The Harbaugh family has others to blame for Trump and the White House. Both Harbaugh and his brother, Jim, have been to the White House, and he has met with Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Trump.

During an appearance on FOX News, Harburgh acknowledged that Trump’s social media post caught him off guard. He admitted: “It did surprise me All of a sudden I started getting bing bing bing. My phone starts going off, and there it is.
“It’s like, man, okay, I guess that’s where he’s the president, you know. I guess that’s what we’re going to do.”
When asked about his parents’ reaction to Trump’s endorsement, Harbaugh reveals: “They were fired up about it. I mean, we loved it. We love meeting President Trump. We loved all of his group. It was awesome.”

Harbaugh then offered a passionate answer outlining what the American people should keep in mind during the nation’s 250th birthday celebrations. His answer seemed to reveal his values.

“Oh man,” Harbaugh began. “I mean, I think people should keep in mind that this is the greatest country and this is the greatest experiment in governing and the greatest experiment in society building that’s ever been attempted in the history of the world. I mean, what this is about is never even comprehended in the history of the world until 1776 when these founding fathers came up with this idea.”
Harbaugh himself has generally steered clear of speaking on politics, although he voiced his support for the construction of a border wall in 2015 — which was one of Trump’s most prominent policies on the campaign trail in 2016. At the time, the then-Ravens head coach said: “I’m going Trump here. Build the wall. If you don’t have a border, you don’t have a country. You’re not a country without a border, right?
“At the same time, you’ve got 12 [million] to 15 million hardworking people here. Give them a shot. Give them a chance to become a citizen, so they’re paying taxes. All of us know that it’s not that complicated, but this side doesn’t want to solve it. Neither does [the other] side. Neither one of them want to solve the problem. Solve the problem.”
