Despite a season below his usual standards, Mohamed Salah is once again attracting interest from the Middle East ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Egypt international was previously the subject of a £150million offer from Al Ittihad in 2023, which Liverpool rejected. This summer, speculation is mounting over new attempts by the Saudi Pro League to lure another high-profile player, following Cristiano Ronaldo’s stint in the region.

Salah, widely regarded as one of the world’s best over the past decade, would be a marquee signing. Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in June 2017 for £36.5million, he has scored 251 goals in 427 appearances, cementing himself as one of the club’s all-time greats.

The 33-year-old has been Liverpool’s top scorer for eight consecutive seasons, though his form has dipped this term, with four Premier League goals in 18 appearances and two goals in seven Champions League matches.

Salah has 17 months remaining on his current Liverpool contract. His future became a major talking point in December after a public fall-out with Liverpool manager Arne Slot, during which the forward claimed he had been “thrown under the bus.”

Despite uncertainty over his future, Mohamed Salah has enjoyed a financial windfall, earning £45million from sponsorships and image rights, according to The Times.

The report claims that “The incredible earning power of the Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has been revealed by the publication of the latest accounts of his company Salah UK Commercial Ltd.

“The company is believed to handle the 33-year-old’s Egyptian’s income from image rights and commercial deals, but not his £21million Liverpool annual salary, and its latest assets as of June 30 2025 were £45million, up £6.2million on the previous year.”

“Although Liverpool and Salah appear to have patched things over after his public criticism of the club earlier this season, it would be no surprise if there were efforts to secure a move for him this summer.”
