Liam Rosenior enjoyed a romantic return to Hull City on Friday night as Pedro Neto’s hat-trick fired Chelsea into the FA Cup fifth round.

Rosenior, whose love affair with the Tigers dominated the pre-match conversation, saw his side record a comfortable 4-0 victory in a bitterly cold Yorkshire.

The Blues had two glorious opportunities to take the lead inside the opening 21 minutes at the MKM Stadium through Estevao Willian and Liam Delap but wasted both. Pedro Neto bailed his colleagues out 40 minutes in with a fabulous strike into the bottom corner from around 25 yards out.

Neto then doubled his and Chelsea’s tally early into the second period with his corner going directly in, with Jorrel Hato almost - but not quite - getting a touch on the cross. The two who missed the sitters in the first half combined for the game’s third goal, with Delap setting up Estevao to put the tie beyond any doubt.

Neto then completed his hat-trick with a cool finish after nice link-up play with Delap on 71 minutes. Below, Bobby Vincent rates the Chelsea players out of 10 based on their performance:

Robert Sanchez

Sanchez was elected from the start on Friday night - something that is extremely rare in the cup. Quite comfortably palmed away a free-kick in the first half but apart from that, the Chelsea goalkeeper didn't have much to do in the opening 45 minutes. Not an awful lot to do in the second period either. 6.

Reece James

Great to see him back in the line-up after missing the three games before that. Perhaps a sign of early rustiness when he needlessly gifted Hull possession in a dangerous area early on. Made a good sliding challenge later on in the half that led to the adoring Chelsea supporters serenading their skipper. 6.

Wesley Fofana

Bit of a surprise he made the XI. Comfortable back there. Looked as if he enjoyed playing alongside a new centre-back partner in Mamadou Sarr. 6.

Mamadou Sarr

His first start since returning from loan. Eased himself into the game with some simple passes, often to Fofana. Made a really crucial block to bail out his captain Reece James early on. Played an astonishing ball to Estevao early on and should have had himself his first assist. 7.

Jorrel Hato

In for the injured Marc Cucurella. Made a fantastic recovery tackle in the first-half as Hull looked to break where the Dutchman got to show off his pace a bit. 7.

Moises Caicedo

No rest for Caicedo. His passing, a couple of times, seemed off. Not his best game and Rosenior would have been pleased to take him off midway through the second half. 6.

Andrey Santos

Continued his ever-improving partnership with Caicedo. Santos is a very silky footballer in possession and often leaves you in awe from some of his touches in tight areas. 7.

Estevao Willian

Started on the right for the Blues. Misses a sitter early on after doing all the hard work to round Dillon Phillips. Some nice touches on the right wing but struggled to make his usual impact. Scored one of the easiest goals of his career in the second period. 7.

Pedro Neto

Was used in a more central position just behind the striker. Bright start to the game, picking up some dangerous positions between the Hull midfield and defence. Scored the opening goal of the match on 40 minutes with a great strike into the bottom corner from 25 yards. A rather more fortuitous goal in the second-half, with Neto's corner beating everyone and making it 2-0. 9.

Alejandro Garnacho

Back on the left. Started brightly in the opening 20-or-so minutes but his performance level deteriorated as the half wore on in Hull. Garnacho's decision making is incredibly frustrating at times. He often makes the wrong choice when in a dangerous position. Got a bit better in the second-half. 6.

Liam Delap

Returned to his former club. His first notable action of the match was a key defensive header on seven minutes. Delap has a really good chance to open the scoring 21 minutes in but took too long after the ball bounced to him after his block hit the crossbar. It looked like it was going to be another frustrating display for Chelsea's No.9 but he redeemed himself with a fine assist for Estevao. Linked up well with Neto for his third, too, meaning he ended with three assists. 7.

Enzo Fernandez (on for James 60')

Nice for Fernandez to get a bit of a rest but came on with 30 minutes of normal time remaining. Passed it well in there for Chelsea. 6.

Josh Acheampong (on for Caicedo 60')

Acheampong came on at right-back for the final half hour or so. Did a fine job. 6.

Tosin Adarabioyo (on for Fofana 77')

Nice to see him back. N/A.

Jesse Derry (on for Estevao 77')

Great to see him make his first-team debut. N/A.

Shim Mheuka (on for Delap 87')

Fantastic to see him also get some more first-team minutes. N/A.
