Happy Friday, and I hope yinz are doing well.
The Super Bowl took place in Santa Clara last weekend, putting an end to the 2025 NFL season. It wasn’t the most entertaining of Super Bowls, with the Seattle Seahawks thoroughly outplaying the New England Patriots to win their first championship in over a decade.
Now, the business of the offseason really begins. For the next month, most of what you hear will be rumors about free agency or the draft. Teams are already busy filling out their draft boards, and by now, the Steelers should have a good idea as to what their ideal offseason would look like.
The new league year and free agency are both about a month away. That’s when things will really ramp up. The draft is a month later, coming at the end of April and representing the final major event of the offseason before things wind down for a couple of months. But until then, it should be a whirlwind of news.
As always, we’re here with you throughout the weekend for whatever news comes our way.
Have a safe and happy weekend.

Recap: Super Bowl Weekend: Steelers Friday Night Five Questions
Let’s go people!
Q1: Which team wins the Super Bowl on Sunday?
The Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots handily 29-13. Likewise, the Seahawks were the overwhelming pick of Steelers Depot respondents. Only one person, who will remain anonymous, selected the Patriots to win SB LX.
Q2: Is Roger Craig more deserving than LC Greenwood to enter the Hall of Fame? Explain.
No one said Roger Craig more deserving than LC Greenwood to enter the Football Hall of Fame. But just eight emphatically said no. Quite a few comments pointed out both equally deserving and pointed out the flawed voting system. Nick Schultz highlighted this, “The fact that L.C. doesn’t share a gold jacket with his brothers is a travesty. HOF induction methods need a serious overhaul. The log jam is only going to get worse. Deserving players should get in, it doesn’t devalue the Hall to push through deserving players and coaches.”
Q3: Of all the new additions to the Steelers coaching staff, which are you most excited about?
Defensive coordinator Patrick Graham gave the most excitement to six respondents. Head coach Mike McCarthy got three votes. But the offensive line coaches, James Campen and Jahri Evans combined for four. Chris92021 even included the RB coach: “All the guys who coached OL before.” The game is won in the trenches, and we got some experience on the staff.
Q4: Should the Steelers trade some draft capital to move up in the first round?
We don’t want to trade up to reach for an overvalued quarterback. It has to be the right person. Otherwise, it may suffice to stay put and select the best wide receiver available. Ted Webb says, “No let the board come to you take best WR on board.” Ginko18 laid out conditions for trading up: “You only move up to get franchise QB (1 in this draft) or maybe a blue-chip prospect in high value positions (rusher, OT, maybe CB).” But Steven Small prefers trading for 2027 picks: “I’d rather they trade picks for next year’s picks if possible.”
Q5: Do you expect Cam Heyward to return to the Steelers for the 2026 season?
13 of 14 respondents expect Cam Heyward to play for the Steelers in 2026. And one was 50/50. Bung says “He’s already stated he wants to play and he was the best D-lineman we had last year so no brainer.” As Ginko18 believes we’ll find out by March 16. Heyward has a $12.95 million roster bonus due on the 5th day of the league year. (The 2026 league year begins on March 12.)
