Tottenham have suffered a setback in their pursuit of a teenage sensation.
Thomas Frank has left Tottenham Hotspur after the 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday evening.
Spurs are languishing in 16th position in the Premier League table, beset by injuries and in all kinds of problems. They are searching for fresh energy and motivation from a new manager, who looks likely to be Igor Tudor. The 47-year-old has given the green signal to become the North London outfit’s interim manager until the end of the season.
Presently, Tottenham’s focus will be to end this awful eight-game winless run in the Premier League and widen the gap between them and the last three in the table. With Frank gone, there could be alterations in the summer’s transfer strategy. New targets could come into the picture as the club’s scouting trips keep happening. However, it looks like the Lilywhites will be missing out on one key transfer target in the summer.
Real Madrid do not intend to part ways with Endrick
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Real Madrid have instructed Endrick and his camp that he will return to the club after his loan spell with Lyon expires in the summer. They have told clubs such as Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea that the Brazilian wonderkid will not be leaving Santiago Bernabeu permanently.
Endrick moved to Lyon on loan in January to enjoy the playing time that was proving elusive at Real Madrid. With Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Franco Mastantuono and Rodrygo dominating the forward positions in the Spanish capital, the youngster was unable to break into the team under former boss Xabi Alonso, making just two appearances following his return from injury.
Since arriving in France, the Brazilian sensation has shown flashes of his vast potential, having scored five goals in six games and supplied an assist. He helped Lyon finish top of the Europa League and climb to third in Ligue 1. Endrick’s rare blemish in Lyon colours came recently when he was shown a straight red card against Nantes.
The report adds that Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal have all made fresh checks on the 19-year-old this season to understand whether the door for a summer move could open. However, Real Madrid have issued a straightforward message: Endrick will return to Santiago Bernabéu after his Lyon loan expires and will be integrated into the first‑team group under a new head coach.
Los Blancos’ stance ends any potential move to the Premier League for the Brazilian forward. Tottenham were hunting for a versatile forward in the winter window but failed to get deals over the line, making it a quiet window. That search continues, however, even if the Lilywhites are in the process of searching for a new permanent head coach, although a move for Madrid’s Endrick now looks to be off the menu.
