Chelsea fans unhappy with star player in Hull City win
Chelsea fans are unhappy with Alejandro Garnacho's performance in their FA Cup win over Hull City. The Argentinian started and played the full game, but failed to get a goal or an assist.
Liam Rosenior's side started off well, but Estevao Willian failed to score from two big chances, once after rounding the goalkeeper. Liam Delap followed suit, failing to score into an open goal after seeing the ball deflect off him and the crossbar.
Pedro Neto came to the rescue just before half-time, scoring from outside the box to give the away side a much-needed 1-0 lead. The goal proved crucial as it helped the Premier League side take complete control of the game in the second half.
Neto went to score a hat-trick, while Delap got a hat-trick of assists, while Estevao Willian also got on the scoresheet. The 4-0 win saw Rosenior's side ease into the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Despite the easy win, Chelsea fans were questioning the performance of Garnacho and posted:
Liam Rosenior commented on the win and said:
"I was delighted with the players' application and attitude in the first half. It was a difficult game. All credit to Hull, they are flying high in the Championship, I do hope they make the Premier League this year, but because of our attitude and application to the game, the quality is always there, that is what gave us the platform tonight."
"We've had some good 90 minutes. Obviously you want every minute of every game to be perfect. There is a lot of things we can improve but in terms of our start together I am delighted with it. Pedro Neto has been outstanding, he works so hard and he has so much quality. I am delighted to see him get the goals he got today. Everyone worked really, really hard for each other."
Rosenior has now won eight of his 11 matches, while losing twice - both to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.
Chelsea star comments on Hull City win
Chelsea star Liam Delap admitted that he was relieved to get the win over Hull City. He claimed that their only task to get the win and said:
"We came here with one task and that was to win. We showed we can battle and also play some good football, so we are happy. Pedro Neto is an incredible player. He is playing in a position he is not even used to but he showed his quality. I swear on my life I almost ran off, I thought it went in and was waiting for the referee to blow his whistle. It was silly from me but I thought it was in."
Chelsea face Burnley next in the Premier League, before taking on Arsenal.
