Liverpool"interested"in signing attacking maestro; Reds have good relationship with his agents

Liverpool are said to be “interested” in completing the signing of highly-rated Wolves youngster Mateus Mane this summer, according to a fresh transfer update.

It will be fascinating to see how the Reds tackle the summer transfer window, in terms of the players they bring in and the finances that are available from FSG.

Man has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent days, with the 18-year-old a hugely exciting player who will surely leave Wolves when they are all but certainly relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

Now, This Is Anfield‘s Jack Lusby has taken to X to further report the Reds’ interest in the attacker this summer, aided by the club’s relationship with his agents:

“Told LFC are interested in Wolves attacking midfielder Mateus Mane along with Newcastle and Brentford. No guarantee of a summer move for 18-year-old but club have strong relationship with player’s agency. Current players Wellity Lucky and Fola Onanuga among their clients.”

Mane a special talent who Liverpool must look to sign

Mane is a young player with so much promise, so the idea of him being in a Liverpool shirt later this year has to be considered a mouthwatering prospect.

The attacking midfielder has added an injection of life into Wolves’ disappointing season, with former England international Jermain Defoe lauding him earlier in the campaign:

“For this young man, it was a masterclass in terms of how he played. His desire, he looked like he’s been there for years. On a lot of occasions you get young players who are in the 18s or the 21s and they’re the best player, all of a sudden they go to the first-team and their games change a little bit. But if he can excite us like the other Mane that we had in the Premier League, it would be amazing! But what a performance.”

Mane is a homegrown player and a massive long-term prospect, both of which should appeal to Liverpool, and they must see him as a genuine target in the summer window, adding much-needed depth to their attack.
