Liam Rosenior has has been praising some of his standout players from Friday’s win over Hull City.

Liam Rosenior had praise for two Chelsea players after their comfortable FA Cup win over Hull City on Friday night. The Blues came through the tie comfortably, winning 4-0, allowing Rosenior to claim some revenge over the club that once harshly sacked him.

The win was an important confidence-booster on the back of a frustrating draw against Leeds United previous, and Rosenior now has more than a week to prepare for a Premier League clash with strugglers Burnley.

The main protagonist of Chelsea’s win on Friday night was Pedro Neto, with the winger scoring a hat-trick, and it’s no surprise that Rosenior has praise for the wideman after the game. He said; “I think the overall positive thing was the application of the team. I thought our pressing, our intensity, our work rate, and Pedro exemplified that to be honest, that's why he scores the goals that he does.

“I'm very lucky to have such talented players and what I'm really realising quickly is that they are not just good players, they’re outstanding professionals. I felt it was a really professional performance tonight against a very good team who are pushing for the Premier League.

“This was not an easy game and some of our football was everything I want to see, but before that, the values of what the team stood for tonight made me a very happy coach.”

Sarr impact

Rosenior also had praise for defender Mamadou Sarr, who played for the first time after being recalled by the Blues from his loan spell with Strasbourg. Rosenior has been full of praise for Sarr and his potential impact, and that did not change after the defender’s first game back.

“Mamadou was everything that I expect,” added the Chelsea boss. “I know Mamadou so well and I think his acclimatisation and adaptation process will, hopefully, be fast because he already understands how I want to play.

“But I don't want to single a player out as I felt the whole team, from Alejandro Garnacho's energy, pressing and running, to Liam Delap, Estevao, the midfield players, the back unit, Rob Sanchez, I felt it was a really strong team performance. That is what makes me so happy this evening.”
