Opinion - Liam Rosenior's work with Andrey Santos is an inspiration to every Todd Boehly Chelsea signing

As Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior looked to make changes where he could to the Chelsea side, there was no rest on the horizon for Andrey Santos as he continues to ease into his role as a regular for the club.

While featuring against Hull in the FA Cup saw him rack up 31 appearances for the season, the amount of these that have been starts have drastically risen since the new manager came in.

Santos has started eight of the 11 games Rosenior has been in charge of, despite the fact that both Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez have been available throughout too.

Liam Rosenior’s work with Andrey Santos is an inspiration to Chelsea stars

After a hectic run of fixtures, Rosenior will now benefit from eight days without a game and an opportunity to get a real look at some of those who haven’t had frequent chances yet.

There has been a lot of criticism of the Chelsea loan system, and whether those players are actually going to get a chance at Stamford Bridge, and these fears did exist with Santos after his spell at Strasbourg.

However, regular starts under the new manager should be the perfect inspiration for some of those players coming through the system.

Even highly-promising youngster Estevao Willian has not played as much as Santos, and even though Enzo Maresca couldn’t find a spot for him, this did not signal the end of his time at the club.

Chelsea players who can benefit like Andrey Santos

Strasbourg have been the frequent landing spot for some of Chelsea’s most talented young players to make an impression on chiefs in West London.

Mike Penders is currently a regular starter for the Ligue 1 side, and has been tipped for big things when he eventually arrives at the club.

Kendry Paez has been handed another chance at River Plate after Rosenior had the chance to work with him earlier this season at the Ligue 1 side.

The likes of Geovany Quenda and Dastan Satpaev can also take encouragement that their time is coming under the current boss, as well as Mamadou Sarr, who made his first domestic start against Hull.
