The NBA All-Star Weekend is underway with many stars descending upon Los Angeles to watch basketball‘s best show their skills in various events.
On Friday night, fans were able to enjoy the annual NBA Celebrity All-Star Game, featuring standout performances from NFL star Keenan Allen, along with former NBA star Jeremy Lin and Tacko Fall. Actor and musician Rome Flynn took home the game’s MVP award for his performance.
There was also a celebrity version of the league’s three-point contest featuring stars such as comedian Druski, Chicago Bears player Caleb Williams, and former NBA player-turned-commentator Richard Jefferson. However, current NBA player Jered McCain, recently traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder and considered a celeb for his social media following, won the event.
Friday’s events concluded as four teams coached by NBA legends competed in the Castrol NBA Rising Stars tournament. Team Vince defeated Team Melo in the final with Philadelphia 76ers rookie VJ Edgecombe claiming the game's MVP Award.
Now that Friday’s games are out of the way, attention turns to Saturday’s All-Star Weekend events. A full slate features NBA stars participating in the Shooting Stars, 3-Point Contest, and Slam Dunk Contest.
First up will be the StateFarm 3-Point Contest with an eight-player field that includes Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel as this year’s favorite. He's up against some heavyweights in the contest, including Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell, 76ers star Tyrese Maxey, and injured Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard.
After the NBA crowns this year’s 3-Point champion, the Kia Shooting Stars competition takes place, featuring four teams. Team All-Star includes former NBA All-Star Richard Hamilton alongside current All-Stars Scottie Barnes from the Toronto Raptors and Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Team Cameron features NBA legend Corey Maggette, Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel, and Atlanta Hawks star Jalen Johnson. On Team Harper, fans will see NBA legend Ron Harper with his sons, Ron Harper Jr. of the Boston Celtics and Dylan Harper from the San Antonio Spurs.
The fourth and final team for Shooting Stars is Team Knicks, featuring Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Knicks legend Allan Houston. All four teams will compete in a contest that requires hitting shots from various spots around the court to achieve the highest score in a timed event.
NBA All-Star Saturday night’s finale is the AT&T Slam Dunk Contest, with a field of four competitors looking to make a name for themselves by attempting to pull off dazzling dunks. Competing in this year's contest are the Spurs' Carter Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers' Jaxson Hayes, the Orlando Magic's Jase Richardson, and Keshad Johnson.
One of these four individuals will be able to call himself the new slam dunk champion, taking over the crown from Mac McClung, who won the past three installments of the league’s event.
Fans can check out the 2026 NBA All-Star Saturday events when they officially begin at 5 p.m. Eastern Time with televised coverage available on NBC and live streaming on Peacock.
