Report: Award-winning Liverpool forward set for contract breakthrough

Liverpool have got some contract issues to resolve before the end of the season.

High-profile examples include Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson - who are both out of contract in summer 2026. Further down the road and Curtis Jones is out of contract in 2027 with the club fielding interest in their homegrown midfielder in January.

It remains to be seen what Richard Hughes ends up doing over those first-team mainstays. Encouragingly for the Premier League champions however it looks like a breakthrough is close in contract talks over one rising star.

Kieran Morrison named PL2 player of the month

Kieran Morrison - a versatile attacker - looks set to establish himself in the first-team picture during the second half of the season.

The 19-year-old has been in sensational form for the club’s Premier League 2 and UEFA Youth League sides this term.

Earlier this week the Northern Ireland under-21 international was named PL2 player of the month for January - the first Liverpool player to achieve such a feat since Curtis Jones back in 2020.

Overall Morrison - a left-footed forward - netted five goals and added two assists in only four matches across the month of January.

He’s since been called up to Arne Slot’s first team - training with the squad ahead of the FA Cup clash against Brighton and sitting on the bench for the Premier League victory at Sunderland on Wednesday night.
