Manchester City could see one of their most promising academy prospects head across the city to Manchester United
Manchester City wonderkid Kasen Brown is set for a departure from the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season and Manchester United have reportedly held talks to snap him up once his exit is finalised.
The 15-year-old is also the subject of interest from other Premier League clubs with Brighton and Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest, and Leeds United all credited with an interest.
City have produced some top talent in recent years with Phil Foden one of the biggest examples of players who have successfully come through the ranks.
The Etihad club do have several former academy players who have left them and gone on to perform at a high level for Premier League rivals, such as Morgan Rogers at Aston Villa and Cole Palmer for Chelsea.
United will hope they can convince Brown to make the move across Manchester as they look to continue their proud tradition of shaping young talent in their academy. United have an impressive 88-year record of having at least one academy product in every matchday squad.
The Red Devils class a homegrown player, as one who signed before the age of 21 having not played for another senior team, and played for an academy team at United.
If Brown does make the move to the Red Devils youth system, he could help keep this record going if he was able to break into the first-team in the coming years.
