The big man has been suspended for seven games, in which he is estimated to lose $724,138 in salary.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Pistons franchise star Cade Cunningham said that he will shoulder the fine for Stewart.
“That’s my brother man. … It’s costly, but he’s the man, I wouldn’t trade him for the world," Cunningham said.
"He’s the best teammate you could ask for. So yeah I’ll help him out a little bit.”
Stewart entered the court despite not being in the game and attacked Hornets star Miles Bridges. The center acted out of defense after Bridges attempted to land a punch against Jalen Duren.
The Pistons-Hornets brawl served as the latest controversial event for Stewart.
