Cavaliers sign Riley Minix to two-way contract

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed forward Riley Minix to a two-way contract.

Minix, 6-foot-7 and 230 pounds, has impressed with the Cavs G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge, since being acquired in a three-team trade on January 12.

In 12 starts with the Charge this season, Minix has averaged 19.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 31.6 minutes per game while shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 45.7 percent from three-point range.

The undrafted forward earned the call-up after a recent standout performance, scoring 27 points on 60 percent three-point shooting in a win over Raptors 905 on Feb. 12.

Minix previously held a two-way contract with the San Antonio Spurs, appearing in four regular season games. He arrived in Cleveland after averaging 15.5 points and 6.4 rebounds in 11 games with the Austin Spurs before the trade.

Over 42 G League games in his career, all starts, Minix has averaged 18.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 42.2 percent from three.

A Florida native, Minix played one season at Morehead State, where he was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year in 2024 after transferring from Southeastern University.

Minix becomes the third two-way player on the Cavaliers roster, joining Tristan Enaruna and Emanuel Miller.
