Ron Harper Sr. declared that he isn't trying to influence his kids' desire to play in the NBA.
Ron Harper Sr. is living his basketball dream as a father, as two of his sons are now playing in the NBA.
The former NBA star further earned another priceless memory as he managed to play and participate with Dylan and Ron Jr. in the Shooting Stars challenge.
Right after the event, Harper Sr. was asked if he expected both his sons to follow his footsteps and play in the NBA one day.
As such, he dropped an intriguing response.
“I’m not LeBron James, I'm not going to tell my kids what they have do,” Harper told reporters, which instantly raised the eyebrows of both Dylan and Ron Jr.
Harper Sr. played 16 seasons in the NBA, famously known as a teammate of Michael Jordan in the second leg of the Chicago Bulls’ dynasty in the ‘90s. He served as the starting point guard of the Bulls’ second three-peat.
Harper Jr., who went undrafted in 2022, is currently representing the Boston Celtics and spent most of the 2025-26 season so far for the G League Maine Celtics team.
Meanwhile, Dylan is the reigning No. 2 pick of last year's NBA Draft. He is currently playing for the San Antonio Spurs.
