Player focusing on Liverpool amid exit talks – Summer transfer battle ahead

Mohamed Salah

FRANKFURT, GERMANY – 22 OCTOBER, 2025: Mohamed Salah – UEFA Champions League, match SG Eintracht Frankfurt vs Liverpool FC at Deutsche Bank Park.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been attracting interest from Saudi Arabia.

Sport Witness recently covered claims of Al-Ittihad having prioritised signing the forward to replace Karim Benzema, who left them for Al-Hilal.

Two days ago, we relayed claims from France of Al-Ittihad initiating contact over a move for the Liverpool star.

Win Win now pick up on that and provide the latest on the Middle Eastern interest in the 33-year-old.

Saudi interest growing but no approach yet

The outlet has quickly dismissed claims of the Saudi Arabian club making an approach for Salah. According to their sources, there has been no contact with the Egypt international’s agent over a potential move in the summer. In fact, Al-Ittihad don’t intend to open talks to try and sign him at this point in time.

There could be a battle for the Liverpool man after this season as Al-Qadsiah have joined the race. Aramco own the latter, who were the ‘big spender’ in Saudi Arabia during the last transfer window.

Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is now in charge and could be pushing to sign Salah. Win Win claim the former Chelsea man is an ‘important target’ for Rodgers’ side next season.

With the two Saudi clubs making him their main target, there could be a battle between them in the summer.

Salah focusing on finishing season at Liverpool

Despite growing interest from the Middle East, Salah wants to focus on the Reds. His aim is to enjoy a good run with Arne Slot’s side until the end of the season, to arrive at the World Cup in the ‘best possible shape’.

The attacker has six goals and seven assists from 26 matches in all competitions for Liverpool this season. These numbers don’t stand out when compared to Salah’s own statistics of previous seasons.

He arrived at Anfield from AS Roma in 2017 and has managed 251 goals and 120 assists from 427 matches. That should give one an idea why Salah hasn’t been at his best this season.
