Luka Doncic reveals injury status ahead of All-Star Game

Luka Doncic provided an injury update ahead of the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, saying he is feeling better and expects to play.

Luka Doncic has provided an update on his injury ahead of the 2026 NBA All-Star Game at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

Los Angeles Lakers / Schedule

The Los Angeles Lakers guard, who is making his first All-Star appearance as a Laker, spoke to the media on Saturday about his health, All-Star excitement, and scoring limits.

Doncic has missed the last four games for the Lakers but said he is progressing in his recovery. "I feel pretty good. You know, I've been working to get back," he said in a press conference. "You know, obviously wanted to play the last game, but it wasn't possible. I was almost there." He added, "So I think I will play a little bit."

When asked jokingly if he planned to dunk on teammate LeBron James during the exhibition, Doncic kept it simple: "And no, I will not try to dunk on LeBron."

This year's 75th All-Star Game uses a new USA vs. the World format with three teams, 12-minute games, and the top two advancing to a championship matchup. Doncic said he is focused on enjoying the experience rather than showy individual plays.

"I'll just say the game," he said. "You know, playing with the best guys in the world." He added, "You know, just being there, like I said, taking the moment in and just enjoy it."

This marks Doncic's sixth All-Star selection overall. "I mean, every all-star, you know, just blessed and, you know, I'm going to look back at it," he said. "You know, I'm a six-time all-star now and not everybody can say they're all star." He added, "So, just take everything into the moment and enjoy this."
