Carlton Cole hails'efficient'Chelsea while making claim involving Liam Rosenior

Carlton Cole has been impressed with Chelsea following the arrival of Liam Rosenior.

Rosenior replaced Enzo Maresca as manager last month and won his eighth game in charge on Friday.

Chelsea beat Rosenior’s former club Hull City 4-0 in the FA Cup to progress to the fifth round of the competition.

Pedro Neto bagged a hat-trick, and Cole is convinced that the winger and the other Chelsea players are already huge fans of their new manager.

Carlton Cole on Chelsea players and Liam Rosenior

Cole likes what he is seeing from Chelsea under Rosenior so far, claiming that they have been efficient.

He is also convinced that the 41-year-old has the dressing room onside. Speaking about his former side on talkSPORT after their win against Hull, Cole said: “I think they’re efficient. The players like him. That’s the one thing, you’ve got to get the buy-in from the players when you’re a new manager, especially when you’ve got young players.”

Are you convinced by Rosenior yet, Chelsea fans?

His start is almost as good as Jose's!

While Chelsea got the job done in the fourth round of the FA Cup and had some very good performers on the night, another ex-Premier League star was not impressed with everyone.

Retired goalkeeper Joe Hart was quite critical of Alejandro Garnacho, claiming that the 21-year-old “didn’t quite shine”.

Garnacho has come in for a bit of criticism this season, as has Neto. But Rosenior has spoken very positively about the two wingers on more than one occasion.

Chelsea’s xG vs Hull

Chelsea were certainly efficient against Hull. As per Sofascore, the Blues’ xG was 2.95 and they only created two big chances but still managed to score four goals.

Ultimately, scoring goals has not been a problem for the Conference League holders since Rosenior took over. Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie is the only game where they have failed to find the back of the net under Rosenior.

Rather, it is defending that has been an issue. While Chelsea were able to keep a clean sheet at the MKM Stadium, they surrendered a two-goal lead to Leeds at home during the week.

If Rosenior wants to have a successful season at Stamford Bridge, it is something that he has to address.
