What the Chelsea squad really think of Liam Rosenior's tactics according to Liam Delap

Liam Rosenior has guided Chelsea to eight wins from 11 games in all competitions since replacing Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge, following Friday night’s win over Hull City.

An excellent victory, that had all the ingredients to be a banana skin for Rosenior. Against his old side, away from home in the FA Cup against a Championship side in good form, yet Chelsea cruised to victory.

An easy 4-0 win that saw Pedro Neto score a hat-trick, the first Chelsea player to do so in The FA Cup since Oscar netted three times against MK Dons in 2016. Liam Delap, meanwhile, laid on three assists.

Chelsea haven’t won the FA Cup since 2018…

Can Rosenior deliver the famous old trophy again?

The £30m striker might not have scored when he really should have, having hit the bar and the rebound falling to him, but he did set up three Chelsea goals. He showed what he brings to this Chelsea side.

Liam Delap on what the Chelsea squad thinks of Rosenior’s tactics

Rosenior became the joint second-quickest manager to reach eight wins as Chelsea manager, levelling Carlo Ancelotti’s start to life in West London. Only Jose Mourinho has managed it in less, just 10 matches.

The former Strasbourg manager has been a success if his first month as Chelsea boss is anything to go by, and Delap told Chelsea’s website that the players have all bought into the new manager’s tactics.

“I think the messages he’s brought into the group, we all buy into it. You can see by the results we’re getting that we’re doing well. So hopefully we can build on that and improve in every game,” he said.

Liam Rosenior is thriving in one area, but struggling in another

The Chelsea gaffer has made a super start. There is one element of this side that is absolutely thriving, and that is the form in front of goal. Already, Chelsea have clocked up a massive 28 goals in 11 games.

Are you convinced by Rosenior yet, Chelsea fans?

His start is almost as good as Jose's!

That’s more goals than any other Chelsea manager in their first 11 games, two more than Ancelotti’s first 11. However, the issue Rosenior has is conceding goals. Already, 14 goals during Rosenior’s first 11.

A whole lot more than spells under the likes of Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel. The win over Hull was just the third clean sheet, after Brentford and Pafos. Rosenior must plug the leak if he is to be a success.
