Liverpool are reportedly ‘in danger’ of losing Mo Salah this summer transfer window

Arne Slot clearly feels positive about the future of Liverpool’s attack but despite his recent comments, the possibility of Mohamed Salah leaving the club this summer is growing.

The Egyptian continues to be heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and the Reds will have a big decision to make at the end of this season. Liverpool can either opt to sell in order to bank some cash, or see out Salah’s contract in 2027.

Despite the 33-year-old returning to a prominent role within Slot’s team, the club are ‘in danger’ of losing him before the new season.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool could see Salah leave Anfield this summer as Saudi Arabian clubs make him a top priority signing.

Clubs in the Pro League are eager to finally sign Salah, with Al-Ittihad the main side in the running for his signature. The Jeddah-based outfit were the ones to offer a whopping £150 million for Salah’s signature in 2023 and their interest has not faded since.

Al-Nassr are also in the picture, especially if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves the club. Regardless of the destination, the Saudi Pro League ‘wants any deal’ finalised for Salah once the summer window opens.

While it seems Liverpool are confident Salah will not leave this year, the report claims they are actually ‘privately preparing’ for his departure.

The Egyptian enjoyed a strong performance against Brighton in the FA Cup at the weekend, grabbing himself a goal and an assist during Liverpool’s 3-0 win.

After the match, Slot praised Salah and seemed to suggest the future of Liverpool’s attack ‘looks really bright’ with him in it.

“It is very nice to have him on the scoresheet again but what I like the most is he is scoring goals you can almost expect, but he also helps the team a lot defensively and that is something very positive,” the manager said.

“What the team also needs and is much more capable of playing every three days at an intensity level and that is where we struggled at the start of the season and we see more and more the quality we have, so the future looks really bright and the recent seven, eight, nine and 10 games are showing that.”
