BBC Journalist Confirms Chelsea First Team Regular Could Miss Up To 5 Matches

Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella could be sidelined for between “3-4 weeks” with a hamstring injury, according to BBC reporter Nizaar Kinsella.

The Spanish international was replaced at halftime during the 2-2 draw against Leeds. He was subsequently unavailable for the 4-0 win over Hull City in the FA Cup on Friday evening.

While the club have not officially said how long Cucurella will be out, head coach Liam Rosenior did confirm earlier this week that the defender would be undergoing a scan.

Based on the estimated return date, it appears that the scan results showed a relatively minor issue, rather than a serious tear that could have kept the player out for months.

How many games could Cucurella miss?

In addition to the FA Cup tie against Hull, the 27-year-old could be unavailable for up to five more games over the next month.
