Chelsea are in the hat for the fifth round of The FA Cup after a 4-0 win over Hull, and it keeps the hope of silverware alive this season. But Liverpool and Dominik Szoboszlai will have a say in that.
A hat-trick from Pedro Neto and an Estevao goal sent Chelsea through on Friday night, while Liverpool cruised past tougher opposition in Brighton at Anfield. Both sides are in the hunt for the FA Cup.
With both out of the running for the Premier League title and the Champions League, the hardest title to win of the competitions that both Liverpool and Chelsea remain in, the FA Cup is their best chance.

Speaking after Liverpool’s win over Brighton, Mo Salah discussed Liverpool’s chances of winning The FA Cup this season, and the Egyptian icon believes one Liverpool player is key to pipping Chelsea to the title.

There is little doubt among those of a Liverpool persuasion that Szoboszlai has been Liverpool’s best player this season. Despite playing in many different positions, he’s had a hand in 17 goals this season.

Salah was quoted after the game as saying that Liverpool’s £60m signing Szoboszlai is the key to Liverpool winning the FA Cup, and described the Hungarian as one of the best in world football right now.
“It’s going to depend on his [Szoboszlai’s] performance [if Liverpool win the cup], because we rely on him. He’s one of the best players in the world. It’s great to win trophies, hopefully we can do it again,” he said.
Chelsea came close to signing Dominik Szoboszlai in 2023
Szoboszlai joined Liverpool from Leipzig in 2023 after starring in Germany, having made the move from Salzburg to Leipzig as many players do. He’s sparkled since, but his form this term is off the charts.

His start is almost as good as Jose's!
Reports said that summer, however, Chelsea were in talks to sign Szoboszlai and were close to doing a deal for the versatile Anfield hero. However, he opted to move to Merseyside instead of West London.
Now, they are being told they missed out on one of the best players in the world, by another that the Blues let slip through the net. Salah and Szoboszlai present one of Chelsea’s biggest FA Cup rivals.
