The Reds could be looking to bolster their attacking areas, with the club needing plans to find a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Bayern Munich have plenty of depth on their attacking ranks, but Yan Diomande is someone they really like.

Diomande is arguably one of the most dangerous attackers in the Bundesliga, and there will be interest in him.

The 19-year-old has made 20 appearances in the Bundesliga, with 15 starts, and has scored seven goals and registered four assists.

RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff made it clear that any potential suitor will have to pay £87.1m to sign the attacker.

Diomande has been linked with a move to Liverpool, and there are suggestions that he thinks the Reds are his “dream club”.

He has clarified that it is not the case.

Speaking to Bild, Diomande said: “People made it out to be my dream club. But first and foremost, it’s my dad’s favorite club.

“It was always his great wish to see me there someday because he loves the atmosphere at Anfield. He always raved about Steven Gerrard. I was too young to see him play. We didn’t even have a TV at home for a long time. I have a lot of respect for Liverpool, but my dream club right now is Leipzig.“

Diomade was also asked about a potential move to Bayern Munich in the future. He replied that while it is nice to hear, he has not received any offers yet.

He added: “It’s always nice to hear something like that. But I haven’t spoken to anyone from Bayern. It’s not the right time for that. I’m happy here in Leipzig and want to remain fully focused.”

Advantage Liverpool? Bayern possibly out of the race

Christian Falk explained to CFBayern why Bayern could struggle to sign Diomande.

“It is TRUE: Yan Diomande is going to cost a lot of money to sign this summer. The €100m [£87.1m] asking price was established by RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff,” Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

“We saw him playing against Bayern Munich in the DFB Pokal. He’s good, he’s really good. However, he’s still got some developmental work to do, and so €100m will be too much for Bayern this summer.

“That said, it’s a price that Premier League clubs can of course afford to pay.”

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool come up with a big-money offer for the Leipzig attacker, as clearly they have money to spend big.
