The Raiders have hired Joe DeCamillis to join Klint Kubiak's staff as his special teams coordinator
The Las Vegas Raiders are starting from scratch once again this offseason. After laboring through a horrific 2025 campaign, the Raiders have been busy over the past few weeks, with their biggest moves seeing them fire head coach Pete Carroll after just one season and then replace him with former Seattle Seahawks‘ offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
After winning Super Bowl LX with the Seahawks, Kubiak hasn’t been able to celebrate much because he’s had to work on building out his coaching staff with the Raiders. Kubiak has made several big additions over the past few days, with the latest seeing him hire Joe DeCamillis to come to Las Vegas to be his new special teams coordinator.

Before South Carolina and working at Texas in 2023, DeCamillis was a special teams coach in the NFL for 31 years.
Kubiak has moved quickly to fill out his coaching staff, and he’s had to, as he’s behind the eight-ball when it comes to his work with the Raiders, given the timing of the team’s decision to hire him. However, things are beginning to come together for him, especially after he decided to hire one of his old friends to come and work for him in Las Vegas.
DeCamillis has been a coach since 1991, when he initially broke in with the Denver Broncos. Since then, he’s bounced around the league, working primarily as a special teams coordinator. Kubiak and DeCamillis crossed paths in 2016 with the Broncos, when they both worked for Kubiak’s father, Gary Kubiak.
Now, the younger Kubiak has his first head coaching job, and he targeted DeCamillis to join his staff. After spending the past two years with the South Carolina Gamecocks, working as their associate head coach and special teams coordinator, DeCamillis is returning to the NFL to work with Kubiak and the Raiders as their new special teams coordinator.

DeCamillis is one of the most experienced special teams coordinators in all of football, which makes him a fantastic addition for Kubiak. With a pair of Super Bowl championships to his name, DeCamillis knows what it takes to win on the biggest stage the NFL has to offer, and while special teams will obviously be his focus, he figures to be a guy Kubiak can lean on as he adjusts to his new role as a head coach.
Kubiak still has some work to do when it comes to filling out his coaching staff, but the early returns are encouraging. Soon enough, though, the team will turn its attention to free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft, with Las Vegas being armed with the No. 1 overall pick. So far, Kubiak is off to a strong start, but the work has only just begun when it comes to this wildly important offseason for the Raiders.
