"I think there is a better organization here," Luka told Sport Klub. "The Lakers are really a legendary club, and the organization is also legendary."
Doncic, 26, is now the centerpiece of the Lakers. Last offseason, the team built its roster around him rather than LeBron James.
The Mavericks, where the Slovenian superstar played from 2018 until February 2025, traded him ahead of last year's deadline in a deal for Anthony Davis.
During the 2023-24 season, Luka led the NBA in scoring, becoming the first European and only the second international player to win the scoring title. That same season, he guided Dallas to its third NBA Finals appearance.
He also ranks as the Mavs' all-time leader in triple-doubles and holds the franchise record for most points in a single season.
Now, Doncic is playing his first full season in Los Angeles.
