The 2026 NBA All-Star Game is underway from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California on Sunday evening.
The game, one of the biggest events of the NBA's year, features the best players from the United States and around the globe. But while the game has tipped off on NBC, the crowd turnout for the contest is leaving a lot to be desired.
Photos of the NBA All-Star Game's "embarrassing" crowd turnout are going viral on social media on Sunday night.
"The All-Star game begins in 10 minutes and this place is empty Genuinely so confusing because a month ago I tried to buy my brother tickets and it was $1000+ to get in! I don't get it!" one fan wrote.
NBA fans have taken to social media to weigh in on the "embarrassing" crowd turnout from the All-Star Game.
Fans react to 'embarrassing' All-Star Game crowd
"How does this make any business sense," one fan wrote.
"The consequences of changing the format to something nobody understands and holding the event in the afternoon at a time people are just waking up at in Los Angeles after Valentine's Day Weekend. Bad look," one fan added.
"Why is the All-Star Game starting at 5 p.m. ET?" one fan added.
"Say what you will, but the MLB All-Star Game would be packed out, even at 2:00 in Los Angeles. It might be time to give this thing a rest," one fan added.
"Crazy how empty it is at the All Star Game. If this was in Boston it would be packed. It's wild to think the best team in the NBA hasn't hosted the All-Star game in 62 years," one fan added.
"I see the world is finding out what the LA reseller market is like," one fan added.
"Legitimately hurts to see All Star Weekend end up like this. It really used to be a weekend for the fans, and now it's just a shell of itself," one fan added.
The NBA All-Star Game needs to think about what to do to improve crowd turnout moving forward.
