New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart "can't wait" to start working with new offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who was brought in by new head coach John Harbaugh during a busy offseason.
Dart's rookie year was dramatic, as head coach Brian Daboll was fired after Week 10 and replaced on an interim basis by Mike Kafka. The Giants have since hired former Baltimore Ravens head coach Harbaugh, who reportedly met with Dart before signing his contract.

The Giants were also instructed by President Donald Trump to hire Harbaugh, who admires the head coach and his style in the NFL. While Dart is excited to learn under coach Harbaugh, he's also ready to get going with his new coordinator.

Nagy served as the Chicago Bears' head coach from 2018 to 2021 before joining the Kansas City Chiefs. After being employed as a senior assistant and quarterbacks coach, Nagy was quickly promoted to offensive coordinator and left Kansas City with two Super Bowl rings.
The new coaching hires have been well-received in New York, and Dart is excited to thrive under Nagy. "Man, I can’t wait," Dart told Athlon Sports. "I can’t wait to get a chance to play for him.
"Just so many great things that are said about him and his coaching style, and the work that he puts in, the passion that he has for the game. I think it just really fits into the room and what we want to build.

"I’ve talked to him numerous times. Obviously, this news is still recent, so I can’t wait to get back out there. Get to meet him in person and really collaborate and make something really special on the offensive side."
Dart was clearly delighted that the Giants were able to bring in the Chiefs' coordinator, who has worked with Patrick Mahomes since 2022. When asked why he's such a fan, Dart said: "I think the number one thing is he’s a quarterback guy.
"So, he wants to make sure he puts his guys in the best situation to succeed. He understands that each quarterback is different, and that goes in part with just a cooperation between the quarterback and the coordinator.

"But it’s really good having conversations with guys that are here. For example, I talked to Travis Kelce about him, what his experience was with. And Travis didn’t have anything but just tremendous things to say about Coach Nagy. So really excited to get the chance."

Dart isn't just excited about Nagy; he's stoked to play under coach Harbaugh, who guided the Ravens to a Super Bowl championship in 2012. "Obviously, he was the hottest name out there on the market, and he was the guy that we all wanted," Dart said of Harbaugh.
"So when we heard and had the opportunity that we were going to get to play for him, everybody was excited and fired up about it. I just think that who he is as a person and his identity is something that's very respected among the league.
"From the conversations that I had, he views the game the exact same way that I do, that we do, and, you know, can't wait to get this thing rolling in the right direction."
