Giannis Antetokounmpo drops latest stance on Bucks future

Giannis pledged his commitment to the Bucks, but he admitted he wants to win it all again.

In his sit-down interview with Malika Andrews of ESPM, Giannis Antetokounmpo hammered his dedication to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Milwaukee Bucks / Schedule

"As of today, I’m committed to the Milwaukee Bucks," he said. "I’m committed to the people I work with — my teammates, the coaching staff, Coach Doc [Rivers], and John [Horst] in the front office.

"What I’ve said from the beginning of this year is that out of my mouth and the way I carry myself, you will never hear me say I don’t want to be a Milwaukee Buck."

This has been a roller-coaster year for Giannis and the Bucks. Yet in the end, the Greek star still managed to stay put despite speculations of a potential midseason exit.

Injuries and inconsistencies have significantly affected Antetokounmpo and the Bucks campaign this 2025-26, leading to multiple reports that both sides might eventually part ways. The Bucks have accepted offers from other teams, but didn't move the needle until the last buzzer of the NBA trade deadline.

Right now, the Bucks are 23-30 and sitting in the 12th spot of the East standings.

In the end, Giannis wants nothing but to replicate his 2021 title victory with the Bucks that brought the franchise's second trophy in franchise history.

"I want to win another one," he said. "... When you’ve had a bite of a really good steak, and then time goes by and you’re having steaks in front of you that just aren’t good, you remember how that steak felt. You want that steak again. Maybe with a little béarnaise sauce. I don’t know if that’s a good analogy, but I want that steak again.

"I don’t want to miss out. Players who’ve played in the NBA for a lot of years and never won don’t know what they’re really missing. I know that feeling."
