The NBA All-Star break has come and gone and the Golden State Warriors will soon pick up where they left off to finish the second half of the season.

Heading into the break, the Warriors held a 29-26 record.

At times, Golden State has looked like a team that could make a playoff run. Unfortunately, the season-ending ACL tear suffered by Jimmy Butler hurt the team’s chances in a big way. Despite that fact, the Warriors remain hopeful.

Before the trade deadline, Kristaps Porzingis was acquired in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks for Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield. Golden State is hoping that Porzingis can help get the team back on track in the second half of the year.

That being said, there has been a lot of talk about what the Warriors could look to do during the upcoming NBA offseason for next year.

LeBron James has become a top potential target for Golden State. Now, a new update has shared what kind of chance the Warriors have of bringing him onboard.

What Are the Chances the Warriors Sign LeBron James?

As of Sunday, February 15, Kalshi had updated odds about James’ next team. Golden State was only given a seven percent chance of signing him in free agency.

Right now, the Cleveland Cavaliers are the overwhelming favorites to be James’ next team if he leaves the Los Angeles Lakers. They have been given a 44 percent chance. As for the Lakers, they have a 42 percent chance of retaining James for the 2026-27 season.

James is playing in the final yer of his contract. His relationship with Los Angeles has seemingly soured, although that doesn’t mean it can’t be repaired.

Playing with Stephen Curry has always been rumored to be something of interest for James. He would have an opportunity to do that if he signed with the Warriors. Both aging superstars would gear up for one more push at another NBA championship.

It will be interesting to see if Golden State aggressively pursues James in the offseason. The Warriors have consistently been linked to James over the last couple of years and they’ll have their shot in free agency.

What Can LeBron James Still Bring to the Court?

Even at 41 years old, James is still a productive player. He may no longer be one of the top superstars in the NBA, but he’s a piece that championship contenders would love to have.

So far this season with the Lakers, James has played in 36 games. He has averaged 22 points per game to go along with 7.1 assists, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.1 steals, while also shooting 50.2 percent from the floor and 30.5 percent from the three-point line.

His shooting numbers from the perimeter have dropped off from last season when he shot 37.6 percent. However, the numbers overall don’t look too shabby.

While a return to the Lakers or signing with the Cavaliers seem to be his most likely options, Golden State should not be counted out. If the Warriors do decide to pursue him aggressively, they’ll have a strong pitch to throw at him.
