Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady's involvement in team hiring continued with veteran special teams coach Joe DeCamillis

The Las Vegas Raiders continue to operate at full speed under the guidance of minority owner Tom Brady and his son's involvement, which led to the appointment of Klint Kubiak as head coach.

After being introduced as the Raiders' head coach, Kubiak is expected to be joined by veteran special teams coach Joe DeCamillis. The move continued Kubiak's hiring of a full staff in nearly a week after openly crediting Tom Brady as one of the driving forces behind his decision to take the job.

"His passion for speaking on all things football got me excited working with him, "Kubiak said during his introductory press conference, adding that Brady's presence was "one of the main draws to come here." The team aims to improve a unit that didn't score on any kick or return attempts, ranked in the bottom five in field goals made, and allowed a 48-yard punt return in a Week 14 loss against the Denver Broncos.

DeCamillis brings 34 years of NFL experience to Las Vegas, including 31 seasons as a special teams coach.

Before his college football special teams coordinator role at South Carolina, DeCamillis previously served with the Los Angeles Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars, Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, and New York Giants.

DeCamillis won two Super Bowl rings: one with Denver in Super Bowl 50, and another with the Rams in Super Bowl LVI. The ring against the Broncos saw his special team's unit have a crucial 61-yard punt return to set up a score in the win.

The Raiders are coming off a 3-14 season that earned the No. 1 pick of the 2026 NFL Draft and are heading into next year with their sixth head coach in as many years. DeCamillis replaces Tom McMahon and joins a staff Kubiak has rapidly assembled since being hired on Feb. 10.

Andrew Janocko joined as offensive coordinator six days after Kubiak's appointment, and Rob Leonard was promoted to defensive coordinator on the same day. Mike McCoy stepped in as a special assistant head coach two days before DeCamillis' hiring.

Brady joined the Raiders ownership in 2024 and actively participates in football discussions. Owner Mark Davis said Brady's credibility and seven Super Bowl rings justified his involvement in major team decisions.

The lead FOX sports analyst wanted permission to interview Kubiak after the Raiders' season, with the first interview scheduled before the Wild Card round. A second interview was in late January, and Brady hired Kubiak the day after the Super Bowl.
