Report: Chelsea and Slot lead the chase for Nottingham Forest star, he will cost over £50m

Nottingham Forest have sorely missed Murillo in the last two games, with a defeat against Leeds and a 0-0 draw with Wolves signalling the end for Sean Dyche.

Forest sacked Dyche after the performance in the 0-0 draw, with Murillo sitting in the stands and spotted speaking with Evangelos Marinakis at the half-time interval.

Senior Forest players vented to Marinakis after the game, with Vitor Pereira the man now tasked with keeping the Reds in the Premier League this season.

🤑How much is Murillo worth to Nottingham Forest?

Let us know in the comments below….

Murillo’s future will come into the spotlight in the summer and given how much quality he possesses, it’s quite remarkable that he’s still at Forest, three years since his arrival at the City Ground.

Chelsea and Liverpool lead Murillo chase

According to Team Talk, Murillo is preparing to leave Forest during the summer transfer window, with Chelsea and Liverpool the best-placed to sign him.

The report suggests offers north of £50 million will be entertained, although it does feel as though Murillo will fetch far more than £50 million when the time comes for him to leave.

Murillo has three years to run on his contract at the end of the season, and there will be absolutely no rush for Forest to cash in on the Brazilian on the cheap.

With Chelsea and Liverpool competing for a place in next season’s Champions League, Murillo would likely entertain both clubs should they stump up the cash.

Forest need contingency for Murillo exit

It’s been showcased this season that when Murillo doesn’t play, Forest fall apart at the seams, and ultimately, an adequate replacement is going to be hard to find.

The future Brazil international is superb when it comes to the art of defending, with the player blessed with pace and the ability to play out from the back.

Forest have done some good things with recruitment since returning to the Premier League, and they will need to pull another rabbit out of the hat when it comes to a Murillo replacement.

No Forest fan would deny Murillo the chance to play Champions League football and hopefully, he can pull out the stops to help the Reds remain in the Premier League before he does depart.
