All the latest injury news surrounding Arsenal and Wolves as they prepare to face off in the Premier League.
Arsenal are back in Premier League action on Wednesday nigth when they face Wolves in a clash between top and bottom. The Gunners come into this one on the back of a comfortable FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic, and they will have one eye on this weekend’s North London derby.
As for Wolves, they are doomed and headed for the Championship, but they managed to beat Grimsby Town on an awful pitch in their FA Cup clash on Sunday, keeping at least one portion of their season alive for now. Ahead of this clash, we have rounded up all the latest injury news surrounding both teams.
Hee Chan-Hwang - Out
Chan-Hwang is out until early March with a calf issue. Rob Edwards has said: “Yeah, he's doing alright. He's not gonna be right for this weekend, but obviously we knew that. But he's quite positive, which is good. So, hopefully, he's not out for too long.”
Toti Gomes - Out
Gomes is out for at least another week. Edwards said last week: “Toti is progressing really well. Hopefully, getting into training at the beginning of next week.”
Andre - Doubt
Edwards said before the Grimsby game: “And Andre, yeah, he's going to be in training today, so hopefully he comes it all right. The initial noises are that he's fine, so hopefully involved on the weekend.” André could well return here after not being risked on a very dodgy Grimsby pitch.
Riccardo Calafiori - Doubt
Arteta said after the Wigan game: “Him and Ben [White] are the only doubts. We have to wait and see in the next 48 hours how things develop.”
Ben White - Doubt
White picked up an injury in the Wigan game and the same update as above applies,
Martin Odegaard - Doubt
Arteta said after the Wigan game: “With Martin we have to wait and see, obviously he picked that knock on the action where we conceded the goal and he wasn't fit for today.”
Mikel Merino - Out
Merino is not going to miss the rest of the season after a foot fracture. Arteta said after the Spaniard’s surgery: “Well, I think the doctors were really happy the way it went. Yeah, now it starts. Obviously, it's a long process. You're talking about bone healing, so you need to be patient. You respect the timings, and I'm sure Mikel is going to do everything that he possibly can to speed up the process. We're talking about months, whether it's three, four or five, we don't know.”
Max Dowman - Out
Dowman is getting closer but won’t be ready for a couple of weeks. Arteta has said: “It will be a little bit more [longer] than Mosquera. He's growing, and we need to be very careful and a little more protective. He has a different schedule as well because he needs to go to school...But I think he's quite close. He's on the pitch now, he's doing well.” Dowman is expected back within two weeks.
Havertz has picked up a fresh muscular injury and it set to miss the next three games.
