Five wins out of six and four goals scored,£40m Chelsea star's brilliant record vs Burnley

Cole Palmer is very likely to start for Chelsea in their Premier League clash against Burnley on Saturday.

Palmer was rested for Chelsea’s win over Hull City last week, so he should be fresh for Burnley’s visit to Stamford Bridge.

After a few injury issues this season, the attacking midfielder looks to be back to his best again, scoring a hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month.

Palmer’s return to form is really bad news for Burnley, who have been punished by the Chelsea star in the past.

Cole Palmer has five wins and four goals against Burnley

As a Chelsea and Manchester City player, Palmer has faced Burnley on six occasions and has never been on the losing side.

The £40m attacking midfielder has five wins in total and has scored past the Clarets on four occasions.

Palmer missed Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Burnley earlier this season because of a toe injury, but in his last appearance against them, he netted twice.

Chelsea went on to draw that game, but with the form that Palmer and the rest of the team are in under Liam Rosenior, you would expect a very different outcome on Saturday.

Former England striker Gary Lineker recently lauded Palmer, describing him as “graceful”. Chelsea supporters will now be hoping to see that gracefulness on the ball when they watch their team take on Scott Parker’s side.

Steven Gerrard claims Chelsea are a completely different side with Cole Palmer

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is another ex-England international who has been praising Palmer.

For Gerrard, the Blues are an entirely different team when Palmer is on the pitch. When Gerrard spoke about Palmer last week, he said: “With Palmer back, that’s a massive concern for others. The type of player who doesn’t just score goals; he changes the entire gravity of the pitch. When he’s on it, Chelsea look like a completely different animal.”

No one would disagree with Gerrard, especially after Palmer’s fourth hat-trick in a Chelsea shirt. Had he not picked up any injuries this season, Rosenior’s side would probably be in the top four and may have had a smoother journey into the last 16 of the Champions League.
