Both Nottingham Forest and Liverpool are nursing more than a few injuries ahead of the clash at the City Ground this coming Saturday.
Liverpool head to the City Ground on Sunday for a potentially awkward trip to face a Nottingham Forest side starting yet another new era under Vítor Pereira. Forest have lurched from Nuno Espírito Santo to Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche already this season, with Pereira becoming their fourth head coach as Evangelos Marinakis gambles again to keep the club in the Premier League.
They sit just above the drop zone and badly need stability, but a raucous home crowd will sense an opportunity to derail a Champions League-chasing side.
Liverpool arrives in Nottingham in sixth place, still in the mix for the top four but with little margin for error after an inconsistent campaign.
With that in mind, let’s look at the multiple injury concerns both teams have ahead of the clash.
Nottingham Forest
John Victor – out
John Victor is out for the rest of the 2025‑26 season after suffering a serious knee injury against Aston Villa in early January. He has undergone surgery and is not expected to feature again until next campaign at the earliest.
Chris Wood – out
The New Zealand international has been sidelined since October after undergoing surgery on a knee problem, with Forest confirming he faces an extended spell out. There is no firm return date, and recent updates still describe him as working his way back from that long‑term issue.
Matz Sels – out
Matz Sels is out with a groin problem and is described as still “some time away” from a return. The injury is improving but not to the point where he is considered close to selection in the next couple of weeks.
Nicolo Savona – out
Nicolò Savona is dealing with a knee injury that Forest do not regard as seriously structural but which needs careful management. He has missed recent games and is undergoing further assessment to decide whether rest alone is enough or if a minor intervention will be required.
Murillo – doubt
The Brazilian defender has not been in the Forest squad for their past two Premier League games after pulling vs Leeds United in early Feb with a calf problem.
It remains to be seen if their crucial defender will feature vs the Reds.
Willy Boly – out
Willy Boly has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury and has been left out of Forest’s Premier League and Europa League squads.
Liverpool
Conor Bradley – out
Bradley is out for the rest of the 2025‑26 season after suffering a serious knee injury in the draw with Arsenal and undergoing surgery in mid‑January.
Giovanni Leoni – out
The teenage summer signing continues his recovery from an ACL rupture sustained back in September.
Wataru Endo – out
Wataru Endo suffered a serious left ankle/foot injury against Sunderland on 11 February and was stretchered off. Arne Slot has said he will be out “for a long time”, with no clear timescale yet and a real risk he misses the remainder of the season.
Absolutely devastating news for Wataru Endo, who did his very best to keep going. Wataru Endo is visibly upset with the World Cup surely on his mind also.

Jeremie Frimpong – doubt
Jeremie Frimpong is recovering from yet another hamstring concern picked up in the Champions League win over Qarabag, which has already kept him out of four games. However, there is a chance he can return vs Forest depending on how tr
Alexander Isak – out
The Swedish international was recently spotted stepping up his rehab from a fractured lower leg at the AXA. National team manager Graham Potter has claimed that there is a “chance” Isak can feature for Sweden in the March break:
“I hope they (Isak and Dejan Kulusevski) can play, but these are big injuries…It’s tough to come back from injuries like that by March, but there’s a chance,” Potter said.
“Yes, I have spoken to both of them. They are on their way back and are optimistic. They are working very hard at home in the club team in an attempt to play with us in March.”
