Man City and Bayern enter race for 24-year-old Tottenham striking target giving Haaland a run…

Tottenham have struggled upfront this season.

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a striker for some time now, given that it’s been years since Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich, but his void upfront has not been filled at Hotspur Way.

We have seen the Lilywhites swap through a couple of head coaches without a potent number #9 whose antics would even come close to what the England international did donning the Spurs badge.

Dominic Solanke has been injured for a long time, and he has barely been a shadow of the striker he was during his final season at Bournemouth. Then comes Kolo Muani, who is sure to depart Tottenham at the end of his loan period unless he changes gears under Tudor. And lastly there is Richy, who is linked with a return to his home country in the summer.

And this is where Vinai & Co. have been looking to bring in a goal-scoring reinforcement when the summer window comes around. And Tottenham have been extensively linked with Brentford striker Igor Thiago of late.

Tottenham interest in Igor Thiago meets competition

The Brazilian has been scoring some impressive goals in the English top tier this season, having successfully taken over the goalscoring duties of Bryan Mbeumo at Gtech Community Stadium. He has netted 18 goals in all competitions already, whilst 17 of them have come in the Premier League, giving Haaland a run for money in the golden boot race.

This run of form in front of goal has led Brentford to hand him a new contract which runs until 2031. And this contract helps them get into a strong negotiation position for their wantaway striker.

The 24-year-old has been attracting interest from Premier League elites and beyond. According to the latest report from TeamTalk, the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich have entered the race for his signature.

This clearly shows how much his stocks have risen. A further addition to that is the fact that Carlo Ancelotti is also considering calling him up to the Brazil squad for the upcoming World Cup in the United States.

Brentford will surely put up premium demands for Igor given the negotiation power that comes with the new contract. But Tottenham will now face another familiar question: will they be prepared to break the bank for his signing?
