John Heitinga chooses to leave Tottenham after just 33 days

Former Liverpool assistant coach John Heitinga has chosen to leave Tottenham after just 33 days at the club.

Heitinga hasn’t had the most ideal of seasons since leaving Liverpool in the summer.

Having joined Tottenham as an assistant in January, Heitinga has left the club already due to the appointment of former Juventus manager Igor Tudor as interim coach until the end of the season.

The Athletic report that “Heitinga opted to leave the club as he did not wish to remain part of the new coaching structure under Tudor.”

In addition, fellow assistant coaches Justin Cochrane and Chris Haslam, who joined Tottenham with Thomas Frank from Brentford, have left.

Unlike Heitinga, ex-Liverpool goalkeeping coach Fabian Otte is set to stay despite the change in leadership.
