The Scottish Premiership title race is heating up after Rangers beat Hearts on the weekend and Celtic came from 2-0 down to win 3-2, and it appears Chelsea and Arsenal are looking on, too.
The Premier League’s title race is not the only race for a league title ongoing on these shores, with Hearts leading the way, but both Old Firm sides are beginning to assert their dominance in the race for first.
After a difficult start, Rangers are getting back to their best under Danny Rohl, who boasts players like Jack Butland, Nico Raskin, James Tavernier and more. Chelsea signed Billy Gilmour from Rangers in 2017.

Well, now they might make another signing from the Glasgow giants in the coming months, with scouts from Stamford Bridge keeping a close eye on a Rangers player, who only moved to Ibrox last summer.
Rangers star Emmanuel Fernandez is drawing attention
Joining the club from Peterborough for a £3.9m fee last summer, 24-year-old defender and January Player of the Month Emmanuel Fernandez has been a shining light in a topsy-turvy season at Rangers.

After struggling to get a starting spot at the start of the season, Fernandez has become first choice and, interestingly, become a goal threat. The defender has clocked up 22 Rangers outings, scoring five goals.
English-born Fernandez is hoping to be called-up by Nigeria for the 2026 World Cup, but he might also be on the move this summer. All Nigeria Soccer say some of Europe’s biggest clubs were keen in January.
Bayern Munich, Dortmund, Leverkusen and Italian clubs were all supposedly keen in January, but a move was rejected. Now, the report claims Chelsea and Arsenal are considering bids for defender Fernandez.
Chelsea need to sort out their options at centre-back
While there will be question marks over the need to sign Fernandez and whether the defender is good enough to join a side like Chelsea or Arsenal, there is a need to sort out Chelsea’s current defenders.

Chelsea’s list of centre-backs is very long. Wesley Fofana, Josh Acheampong, Benoit Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin, Levi Colwill, and Mamadou Sarr are all currently in the first team at Stamford Bridge.
With Rosenior preferring a back four, only two are needed and it is hardly a position that requires constant rotation. It is claimed Chelsea are open to offers for Tosin, Badiashile and surprisingly, Chalobah.
Axel Disasi is also likely to be made available for transfer, while Aaron Anselmino may go on loan again. Before Chelsea do anything in the transfer market, sorting out their current options first makes sense.
