Claim: Alexis Mac Allister wanted by Man United – Latest Liverpool FC News

A new claim has emerged linking Alexis Mac Allister to Man United, while John Heitinga has left his second job of the season.

Alexis Mac Allister claimed to be wanted by Man United

The last direct transfer between Liverpool and Man United was back in 1964, when the Reds signed forward Phil Chisnall for £25,000.

Even further back was the last player to join Man United from Liverpool: Ted Savage for £1,500 in 1937.

It was therefore a surprise to hear Mirror chief football writer Jeremy Cross reporting that Man United are “are weighing up a shock raid” for Mac Allister.

The 27-year-old joins a list of midfielders the Red Devils are reportedly considering that also includes Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson.

With his Liverpool contract expiring in 2028, Liverpool could look to sell this summer given the Argentine’s poor form and apparent loss of mobility.

While it could make sense for the player, as he wouldn’t have to move his family, it is hard to see this transfer ever going through!

It was only a year ago that Liverpool fans were in dreamland with their team top of the table, still in the Champions League and into the final of the Carabao Cup.

On February 26, 2025, Liverpool set a new club record of scoring more than once in a 17th consecutive home game in all competitions.

To do so, the Reds beat Wolves 2-1 as Luis Diaz scored after 15 minutes before Mo Salah converted a penalty to put us 2-0 up before the break.

Matheus Cunha was the Wolves scorer, with an excellent strike, to set up a nervous finish that Liverpool came through thanks to a back five of Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.
