Tyreek Hill has a simple reaction to his surprising release from the Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are cleaning house. After hiring Jon-Eric Sullivan to be their new general manager and Jeff Hafley to be their new head coach, the Dolphins have begun to move on from some of their more expensive veteran players. The most noteworthy move of the bunch saw former All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill get released on Monday morning.

All signs had been pointing to Miami moving on from Hill this offseason, especially after he suffered a gruesome season-ending knee injury back in Week 4. And yet, it still has sent shockwaves across the NFL, with Hill issuing a simple one-word reaction to the Dolphins’ decision to move on from him.

Tyreek Hill Reacts to Getting Released by the Dolphins

After spending the first six seasons of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs, Hill was traded to the Dolphins ahead of the 2022 campaign. He quickly helped Tua Tagovailoa turn himself into one of the top quarterbacks in the league, and he put together arguably the best season of his career in 2023 when he hauled in 119 passes for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns, with the latter two figures being tops in the league.

Tagovailoa began to unravel in 2024, but Hill still remained productive. A season-ending injury suffered back in Week 4, though, threw Hill’s future up in the air. With Hill scheduled to make $36 million in 2026, and his status for the campaign being unknown, the Dolphins decided that it was time to move on from the superstar playmaker.

Hill is now free to join whichever team he pleases, but his murky status for the upcoming season will surely be something teams across the league look into. For the time being, though, Hill is without a home, and he reacted to his release by updating his Instagram profile to show that he is now unemployed.

“Tyreek Hill adjusted his IG bio to say ‘unemployed,'” NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared in a post on X alongside a screenshot of Hill’s new Instagram bio.

Hill’s injury status has clouded his NFL future. Under any other circumstances, teams would be lining up just to have a shot at landing Hill’s signature, but the severity of his injury could feasibly prevent him from even playing in 2026. If that’s the case, Hill may have a shortage of suitors, but he could still sign with a team that is willing to bank on him being able to return to form in 2027. At that time, though, he’d be 33 years old, which would surely cause teams to be cautious.

The early favorite to sign Hill is the Chiefs, as they need an explosive playmaker to help open up their offense. Hill has also made it clear he’s open to returning to Kansas City this offseason, which only makes a reunion between the two sides more likely. Other teams will surely show interest in Hill, but it would register as a fairly big surprise if he did not find his way back to K.C. over the next few weeks.
